Baccarat is relatively a simple casino table game, as it involves almost no planning or strategy. In general, it is played with 6 - 8 standard 52-cards packs, placed in a shoe. The value of the cards is as follows: Aces count as 1, cards of 10 or more count as 0 and the 2 - 9 cards keep their value. When calculating the value of a hand, the cards are added and only the unit figure is taken into consideration. For example, if a player has a 5 and a 9, the hand values 4 points.
CasinosLists.com has listed below all the online baccarat games available. Remember that all of them can be played for free.

Types of Baccarat

  • Punto Banco is the most popular type of Baccarat. It is the preferred version by casino players worldwide. The dealer hands out two cards for the player and the banker respectively. All that the player has to do is to bet on the outcome of the hand. There are three possibilities: Player (betting that the player wins the hand, this is paid 1:1), Banker (if the banker wins, the player gets 95% of his winnings, the 5% is paid as a commission to the dealer) and Tie (which means both the banker and the player have an equal amount of points; this bet is paid 8:1 in general).
  • Chemin de Fer, a variant whose name comes from French, meaning railway, is played with 6 packs shuffled together. Every round, one of the players is designated as the banker. He must choose the amount he wants to play, and the others must either match his wager or place their own wagers. After this stage, 4 cards are dealt, two for the banker and two in common for the rest of the players. A third card may be accepted by either side if the number is considered too small (usually between 0 and 4). The hand with the most points wins. If the players win, they get to share the banker's amount, but if the banker wins, all the wagered amount goes to the bank.
  • Baccarat Banque is played with three decks and up to 10 players. This time, the banker has a more permanent position. After all the punters had made their stakes, the banker begins dealing the cards. The five punters on the right win or lose depending on the cards dealt on their side and the same applies for the left side of the table.
